McCain and his VP choice

30.08.2008
Michael Johnson writes in his column about John McCain's choice for Vice President, Governor Sarah Palin. As always Johnson's writing is balanced leaving the conclusions to the reader.

Johnson writes that "Sarah Palin is a former sportswriter, beauty queen, mother of five and a first-term governor of the least populous American state. She has no national profile and was not at the top of the shortlists for this position." Sarah Palin has no foreign policy experience. McCain had over-ruled his staff with the choice. It took McCain one meeting with Sarah Palin to become convinced that she would be ready to take over the presidency if needed.

Had Barack Obama made a similar choice for Vice President it would have been seen by many that McCain's claim that Obama is not ready to lead had been verified. Now one must ask if McCain is fit to become the President of the leading country of the world.

Your comments are quite appalling and speaks to the complete lack factu
al information, but then, so seem the others who seem enchanted by Palin. If you have kids, think of the world they will live in i
f folks like her have power to decide our fate - who are so ignorant even about glpbal warning, environment, so backward about wom
ens rights, and so dogmatic about he religion that she is willing to use her political power to avenge those who dont believe in
such dogmas?
McCain had some credibility util 2004, but this time around, he seems to have even given up on issues that h
e stood for in the past. His choice of a running mate shows his (lack of) powers of discerment. They contradict each other, lie c
onstantly, and cover up many skeletons still struggling to come open in the Palin run Alaskan governer's office.
WIth pe
ople supporting people like Palin/Bush/et al, who needs an enemy to destroy us - we are doing a good enough job self destructing
for the last 8 years.
Please read up, perhaps you will see some reason for this great country to be respoected in the wo
rld again - and support the team that has a shot at still saving us from further doom.
Thank you !

Had Mccain pick picked anyone else he was a assured a
loss. He needed to do and has done 3 things. 1. Distance himself from president Bush. he could have done that by showing the the d
ifferences with his divergent 10% of his votes but that would have further alienated conservates. He accomplished that with Gov. P
alin. 2. He needed to be the real agent of change and the "two maverick ticket" accomplished that. 3. He needed to put out his
agenda as opposed to Senator Obama's and the debates will accomplish that.
But for me the real genious was picking a w
oman who gave me confidence that she chould protect America better than "OBIDEN and Barak America" who do not profile the Scrant
on working class ...Sarah does. She not them profiles small town integrity, hard work and patriatism....profiles a living testame
nt to PRO LIFE.....profiles a second amendment avocate....profile beauty , likeability , motherhood, wrapped in toughness and humi
lty. And not a practiced version but the real deal. She more thn anything exposed the democrats for who they really are...tax rais
ing supporters of class warefare, appeasers and soft on national defense....and basically the same people JIMMY "the worst presid
ent in history" Carter was. This makes Obama a hero in France, GAZA, and RUSSIA. that says it all. And lastly.......

I find it mind boggling there's a candidate who refused to salute the flag during the Pledge of Alligience....refused to weatr a
flag until called on it...and refused to visit our wounded soldiers on his European Rock tour. I guess hanging out with Bill ayer
s rubbed off on Obama. I guess throwing Rev Wright under the bus after saying he could never do that., saying now things that are
Republican quotes have alienated his radical base, alienated Hiliary supporters, alienated wight working class voters....and wome
n in general.
