'Freak weather'
by jamie

Incedentally, people often point out to me how the weather has been more extreme of late.. Katrina gets mentioned - but in my eyes, and city built below sea level on the coast, is eventually going to get flooded, so we can at least count that as circumstantial... But more often the recent floods in the UK get mentioned.... for those who don't know, many towns built on some flood plains got flooded when we got 'over 100mm of rain in 24hrs', this is of course attributed to global warming.... But for me the name 'flood plane' should have been the clue.... But let's look at the extreme rainfall we had, and how it breaks all the records for rainfall... www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/extremes If you look at this page (by the UK met office) You'll see that the records for temperature are mostly recent, but the rainfall records show that the most extreme rain storms all occoured some time ago... and most (if not all) in a period of global cooling.... So.... conclusive evidence the weather in th UK is getting more extreme and that global warming is the cause ..... or not..
