A doubt

Weren't we taught in younger grades that - When an ice cube is placed in a glass of water, and even after the ice melts, the water level is same....Because in the very beginning itself the ice has displaced the appropriate proportions... So, I have a doubt?..Are sea levels rising due to the 'arctic melts'? I dont think so... Well I do support that we must cut down on emissions that pollute land and sea. Know yourself. Enlighten others. Cheers.
